We enlarged <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_9420-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">this image<\/a> to 300% it&#8217;s normal size on our home printer.  After piecing together the printed pages with clear tape on the backside, we traced the image onto the largest side of the cardboard box using a black marker.  Repeat this step to create two LEGO Minifigure cutouts.  Don&#8217;t worry about making an exact replica, authenticity is part of the custom-made fun.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fullsizeoutput_15-1024x675.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-627\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fullsizeoutput_15-1024x675.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fullsizeoutput_15-300x198.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fullsizeoutput_15-768x507.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fullsizeoutput_15.jpeg 1839w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2 &#8211; Cut Out Your Shapes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ask an adult to use scissors, X-Acto knife or a box cutter, to cut out your LEGO Minifigure shapes.  You should have two cardboard figures that look something similar to this cutout:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0088-773x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-628\" width=\"392\" height=\"512\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3 &#8211; Build Your Pi\u00f1ata<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Add cardboard sides to create your 3D LEGO minifigure.  The cardboard sides should be at least 1.5 inches.  Use masking tape to secure the sides in place.  Some people use toilet paper rolls inside their figure to keep the form sturdy while taping.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0090-3-771x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-631\" width=\"392\" height=\"512\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Add more tape for stability and strength.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0091-771x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-632\" width=\"392\" height=\"512\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4 &#8211; Decorate your LEGO minifigure<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Decorate your pi\u00f1ata by adding colorful streamer.  To get the true pi\u00f1ata look, cut fringe on each streamer strip.  The fringe should be just less than half the streamer height.  Use clear tape to attach each fringed streamer to your LEGO Minifigure.  We added a layer of tissue paper to his feet for a clean looking base.  Best practice: start from the bottom of your figure and work your way up.  We added a base row of unfringed streamer around each foot so that the cardboard would not be exposed.  You only have to add one row of base streamer to avoid exposing cardboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0092-776x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-633\" width=\"392\" height=\"512\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Keeping layering the streamer until the front and sides of your LEGO Minifigure are covered.  We left the top of the his head open to add the pi\u00f1ata candy and goodies at a later time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0093-783x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-634\" width=\"392\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0093-783x1024.jpg 783w, https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0093-229x300.jpg 229w, https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0093-768x1004.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0093.jpg 1125w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Now just add a face and clothing details as the finishing touch to your custom pi\u00f1ata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jolenehalas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0095-781x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-636\" width=\"392\" height=\"512\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5 &#8211; Fill your LEGO Minifigure<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Pack your pi\u00f1ata full of treasures.  We used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.walmart.com\/ip\/Brach-s-Kiddie-Party-Candy-Mix-75-Oz\/438469537?wpa_bd=1566260621020&amp;wpa_pg_seller_id=F55CDC31AB754BB68FE0B39041159D63&amp;wpa_ref_id=b4e3e027467b975929c1a3d6ce330cc1&amp;wpa_aux_info=&amp;wpa_tag=&amp;wpa_pos=6&amp;wpa_plmt=1145x1145_T-C-IG_TI_1-2_HL-INGRID-GRID-NY&amp;wpa_aduid=b5a80064-5734-4388-a433-bd801f9bffe4&amp;wpa_pg=search&amp;wpa_pg_id=pinata%20candy&amp;wpa_st=pinata%2Bcandy&amp;wpa_tax=976759_1096070_1224980_1381998&amp;wpa_bucket=__bkt__\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Walmart&#8217;s pre-packaged pi\u00f1ata candy<\/a> and added some one dollar coins and bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hang Your pinata:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Fine rope around your pinata&#8217;s neck will hang him in place steadily.  We tried hanging him from a hole in his head but it didn&#8217;t seem secure enough.
